Poland in the 80's. A young man plays in a group and sings songs about freedom. The government tries to shut them down. All the while he falls in love with a girl whose father works for the government.

The newest Stephen Spielberg's production involves a group of kids (what else?) trying to make their first home movie, when suddently a military train carrying an alien creature derails close to their village and the alien escapes. A little boring at times but overall entertaining.

Meryl Streep plays the leading role of Margaret Thatcher in this autobiographical movie. The plot moves from past to present, narrating the most interesting and touching moments in Thatcher's 10 years as Prime Minister of Great Britain.

Directed by Jee-woon Kim. This is the ultimate revenge movie. After the murder of his wife, a cop decides to take revenge on the serial killer responsible for this crime. He takes things to the extreme and almost becomes the killer he so much hates. Very recommendable.

Directed by Miranda July, a couple has 30 days before they can go and get a sick cat they have decided to adopt. Each tries to do his best to do all the things they always wanted to do. A very creative critique on our daily life influenced by Internet and the overflow of information. Very good movie.

The Sylvian Experiments, 2010, Japan ☆☆

A couple discovers black & white footage of secret experiments in a psychiatric hospital. When those affected come back and take revenge, strange things start to happen. Although the premise is good, the moment the actors start crossing over walls a few too many times, it becomes a lame horror-science fiction tale.

The horrific "true" story about Santa Claus. He has been discovered frozen in a remote Finnish town. He is blown out into pieces with dynamite and later the little helpers are held captive and exported to different countries to represent Santa Claus. Talk about an interesting export.

The story of a Montreal man who donated hundreds of times at a sperm bank. Later he finds out he has approx 100 kids throughout town. He decides to meet them all one by one.

Another Earth, 2011, USA ☆☆☆☆

The inhabitants of planet Earth have just discovered a replica of our planet not very far away. They call it Earth 2. The movie also tells the story of a young women who is involved in a tragic car crash, ruining the life of a man. Both meet again 2 years later, and she tries to make up for her mistake sending him to Earth 2 to find his wife and child. Amazing ending, very good movie.
